I’m Emily

I’ll be the first to say I never thought I’d be here doing this. But that’s what’s so beautiful about this wild and wonderful thing called life.

Growing up, my Dad said I was always the observant one. Staring out the window on road trips from one national park to the next, feeling deeply for those around me, and holding onto big emotions.

I set out to study astrophysics in school and my fondness for photography grew as an extracurricular, but it wasn’t until I shot my first wedding that I knew where my calling lay. It quickly became my medium. A canvas where I could observe, understand and hold those big whole-feeling moments. It complemented the person I have been all this time.

Although it was nearly a decade ago since that moment in time, I remember it so vividly today. This overwhelming feeling of love filled the space. The couple’s closest were in every direction; this beautiful example of commitment was palpable, and an indescribable, intoxicating energy filled every corner of the parent’s home, where everything took place.

When I think about family, life, and the beauty of love, I want to do nothing more than preserve it—to hold each moment tightly. To take these moments in time, keep them close, and share them with others for years to come. This is what I bring to every beautiful soul I work with. It’s a preservation of stories, feelings, and moments that can transport you back to that instance with the glance of an image.

When I’m not traveling here or there to document weddings, you can find me planning my next adventure with my husband, Jeff, snuggling up with our Mini Goldendoodle, Ezra, or empowering fellow photographers on their very own creative journeys, too.

    Documenting your raw, organic love is where the beauty lies in this whole experience. I won’t make you pose, prompt, or perfect, but serve as your guide, using conversation and movement to spark emotion—and documenting each moment as it naturally unfolds.

    I show up as my truest self and create a space and environment for you to do the same. When we work together, I welcome you to release all expectations and to simply be.
